Clausura del proyecto Alma Flamenca con enfoque en la prevención del absentismo escolar y la participación comunitaria

The closure of the APS Alma Flamenca, whose objective was to prevent school absenteeism and achieve greater involvement of the educational community, was first published on the Coslada City Council website.

The mayor of Coslada, Ángel Viveros, and the Youth Councilor, Iván López, attended the closure of the Service Learning project Alma Flamenca at the San Esteban Primary School in the Barrio de la Estación.

This project had flamenco as its main learning axis, with the aim of promoting and improving student attendance at school, as well as increasing family participation in the life of the center.

The service focused on intergenerational activities in which students created castanets, danced, and sang for and with them, creating strong emotional bonds between generations.

The project’s objectives were to foster motivation for learning by introducing flamenco as a reference framework, prevent school absenteeism, improve student attendance, and promote coexistence and mutual respect among different cultural groups.

Through this project, the integration of the gypsy community into the neighborhood was promoted through intergenerational activities with flamenco as the guiding thread.

The closing ceremony took place in recent days, with the mayor, Ángel Viveros, and the Youth Councilor, Iván López, in attendance. The event featured a two-part show, starting with a play by 5th and 6th-grade students from the San Esteban Primary School, who had been working with Momi (a specialist in Social Theater) throughout the year. This was followed by flamenco dances learned by students from different grades, in collaboration with the Expresarte Dance and Theater School.

The play they prepared and performed was titled «Madera.» After the performance, a flamenco show organized by the Expresarte company, with the special collaboration of «La Popi,» took place.

Alma Flamenca was a project that involved the entire educational community, with the collaboration and involvement of teachers, students, families, and various municipal departments and entities being essential to carry out not only this final activity at the Coslada Municipal Theater but the entire program.
